The Country I know

I look at the country I know, Zimbabwe, the land of my fathers and of my people
I do not like what I see
Everywhere I turn, wherever I look, there is bitterness and strife
In most, an anger rages beneath the surface, venting itself from time to time on some hapless victim
The words spoken are not kind; the words spoken cannot build
Everywhere I turn, rejection characterizes the heart of most
Whatsoever is different, no one will give an ear to.
Whatsoever deviates, many a tongue rise to condemn and curse
When one falls short, many a tongue will rise to bay for blood and for a head
Love is a foreign concept

The norm seems to be if you do not agree then you are an enemy
Even in the church, it is not much better
Forgiveness comes with its terms and condition;
Hatred and factions seem to be acceptable; love thy neighbour is the commandment so often shelved for later viewing
Few will take it up as it is and commit to love everybody
And yet it is the one thing that will convict me of knowing God; yet love is the one governor that shows whether or not I know God
Acceptance is not yet a part of our identity
Even our core doctrine has gone malaise;
It is not said, but many do not really believe God is on their side
It is lived as though God is on a mission to get them
The believer is not aware of who they are, what their role is and who their Father really is
It does not help that preaching itself is now more a means to stay alive rather than a means to give life as it ought to be
The preacher ought to desire to minister the fullness of life as Jesus did but alas, the aim for many is just to try to find a means to live and be fed
We are not in a good place and by no means do I believe that this is where God would have us be
Some have begun to cause all the right Holy Chaos
And it is necessary for the foundations of this nation must be shaken if the nation is to be founded on Christ
The body of believers must get right; the bride must become spotless and without blemish if her light is to shine to bring the necessary change
Purity must become the dress of the bride, and love the charm she possesses
Power must become the norm for every believer, and testimonies become our prime time news
It is time for the bride to be made right
Every man woman and child I Christ must rise to the fullness of their calling as we begin to take the first steps towards making a better place o this nation, as we put the priority o family in its place and as we let the love of God become the very fragrance of every area of our lives.
