There are times when I feel there is no better way to express where I am and where I ought to be other than to write a poem; preferably in the first person as an address to myself and I often find in these times a rawness of expression that a number of people also find speaking to their hearts. I wrote this a few days ago and I wanted to share it as I believe it can also speak to as well.
Sometimes
Sometimes I feel all alone
And it seems no one can understand
Sometimes I feel ashamed
When I remember the weight of my guilty stains
Sometimes it feels as if my world is caving in
And I wonder if maybe my dreams got too big
And maybe if I have bitten off more than I can chew
Sometimes it seems like there is no progress
And like in a swamp, my life reminds me, or seems to the picture of stagnation and the death of flow
I wonder if I have been wise
Or rather in haste I have let the best chances go
And sometimes I find myself caught;
Trapped by the man called sin; doing what I never thought I would do
And I ask myself; “How many chances of God must I ask?
What exactly must I do for this thing called transformation to occur?
What exactly must I do to break this cycle that seems to be of defeat?”
Amidst the disappointments of life;
And the broken relationships; whose sting on my heart is like flung gravel;
In an ailing economy where training en-masse occurs;
But where most know their fate or employment simply cannot be found therein
I find myself with a question; or rather a multitude of them
What is life for?
Why here?
Why me?
Why now?
All siblings with equally challenging cousins such as;
What does it take for change to occur?
When?
“How will this occur?”
But amidst all this, like David and many others; to my soul I must speak
And these words must I say:
“Be still, fear not
The Lord is God, He is your maker and Father
He is the king, He is Yahweh and He is supreme
In the heavens above and on the earth below
There is none like Him
He is a rock, a mountain, and He who trusts in Him can never be put to shame
He is faithful and true, loving and kind, forgiving and merciful
In Christ He has revealed Himself fully to us;
A father who loves, who cares and who opposes all that is set up against me
Neither from the South, nor from the North, nor from the West, nor from the East cometh promotion
But from the Lord.

“Be still, be of a good courage
And I say to you Rejoice again
Delight in Him for He is faithful
Take heed of Calvary; be cognisant of its cost
For therein lies the value God has for you
Be still; fear not and behold:
He comes; even God with a recompense
A Father with restoration in His wings for everything stolen from you
Time, resources, relationships and a lot more.
Behold He comes:
A Father with an embrace of love
Who makes your life a wonder that can only be described as
The goodness of God in the land of the living.”
