Pursuing your vision beyond 2020

Covid-19, a historic US election, massive Australian bushfires and the untimely passing of the Black Panther. These are just some of the world-shaping events that have occurred this year, and the reason why for many, 2020 was as apocalyptic a year as we have seen.

Indeed, the year has seen changes to our daily routines that seem set to continue for the foreseeable future. Though these changes may seem overwhelming, and we are tempted to feel insignificant and puny in the face of human history, we can overcome. Unlike the rest of creation, mankind has been endowed with a unique ability that allows us to shape the future we want like nothing else can. The ability to dream.

Over the next weeks, I want to encourage you to dream. I want to help you to become free from your fears and live a life led by a vision and purpose. I know how easy it is to coast through life, to walk around without a particular aim. I know how unfulfilling that can be, and how empty that is. You wish the day would end if you are at work, and you drown yourself in entertainment the time you get home to escape a reality that seems largely pointless.

And I know how energizing a dream, goal or target can be. I know how it can transform you from a lazy, listless couch potato into an indefatigable machine who is relentless in pursuit. And I know just how exciting it is to see your dream and your vision come to life. Just take a moment to see how soccer teams celebrate winning the World Cup and you will know how much of a well of joy it brings for them.

I will close with three verses, that will be the theme of my posts over the next few weeks.

Proverbs 13:12 Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish.

Habbakuk 2:2 And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.”

I hope you will be greatly blessed and encouraged over these coming few weeks.
