Purpose

How many of you know what a smartphone is for? Whatsapp, Facebook, Surfing, gaming etc..the answers vary depending on your preferred use, but do you realise that you would never in your right mind leave a 1 year old baby with your phone for a day-you know you may find it has adopted a use as a toy mini van, or it has doubled as an artillery or a rubber ducky for their tub. In their mind, the child has done nothing wrong but in you would rise any of a multitude of feelings-murderous rage, sinking disappointed, disbelief especially if that particular smartphone cost you a lot to get. But that kid in your custody on the other will go on blissfully unaware of the sheer cost of how he/she abused your property.

If you do not know the purpose for which something was made, then misuse is inevitable and often as we live our lives, we seek the answer to this question at some point. Get it right and all your days become life filled, enjoyable and every moment lived is worth it; get it wrong on the other hand and you will coast along forever delving into dark waters, harbouring for yourself disappointment upon disappointment and every bit of joy you seemingly get will be fleeting, never lasting but merely a wisp of wind you attempt to clutch in your hands.
And even if you do get it right, the focus needs to remain. It is like unto a camera which you must still in your hands until the image preview appears on your screen, otherwise the image you get will be blurry and indiscernible. Because when you allow circumstances to take your eyes of truth, your life becomes a roller coaster, one moment up and another down and in your heart and in yourself the joy will be drained. Nevertheless, the road to the right path remains; the way to truth never shuts and forever it will beckon. Heed its call, and the past is forgotten, the failures are lost in the light of glorious grace for as it is written; I am alive to look upon the goodness of God; and yet again in another place “we were called out of darkness into his marvellous light that we may show forth the deeds of His glory (well, not exactly but close enough).
Though the past may have been grim, and though now and again I might have been stumbling, The Lord will perfect that which concerns me, and the confidence I ought to have in Him is this “He who has begun a good work in me will bring it to completion”
It is this that we need now to realise and walk in, for great is the call and position to which we have been called and greater still is the grace and the love for us to succeed-for of this we can be sure, we have summoned to live in the Kingdom of God which as the bible defines it is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. We are called to live lives of trust in God, who is good, who is love and who desires mercy and not sacrifice.
We are summoned to live in the presence of God who is the source of life, who is our strength and our hope. Beloved, all our purpose for life in this: to know and to forever live in the love and light of our glorious God.
