Hello 2019

So my first post in the year comes a bit late and maybe it is around that time when you and I are looking at some of resolutions with the realization that maybe we did not know just how much commitment we would need; or how much of a shift it would mean to how we live.

But nevertheless, this is my Hello to 2019. It is for me a hello to embracing process; to embracing the long term plan and patience. It is a hello to beginning to live in certain ways to achieve certain things that as yet I am yet to do so. So just to share in more detail; I have said hello to the following this year:

  1. To actually writing down a 40 year plan or vision for my life, in every area I believe I am called to, and cascade that down to a 2019 plan
  2. To commit to following a daily devotional every morning; with my set time of 4:30 at present guided by my work commitment
  3. To commit to my friends that I will weigh 15kg less at the end of 2019, than I did at the start
  4. To begin to incorporate rest and leisure into my monthly plans; and to visit places as I dream to do so on purpose
  5. To embrace, the process, and the patience I will need to go from where I am today, into where God has called me to be.

So as I look forward, I have hope. For the year, God has given me Exodus 33:14 – For my presence will go with you and I will give you rest.

As my nation goes into turmoil, and as the people have started to live in fear our government, I find myself asking if God is Omnipotent; because if He is, then I still have no reason to fear. When it says 1000 shall fall by my side; and 10 000 by my right hand; that is a promise for such a time as this-when there is actual threat to life. Therefore I resolve in my heart, as I say Hello to 2019 to trust God; to put my hope in Him and to say Amen to each and every promise He has made over my life.
