Of Jesus however, it says in the book of Hebrews that He died as an offering for sin once, and for all. When He was crucified for the sin of the world, it was for all of them; past, present and future. It was not just for those sins committed up until His death. hence in our lives also, when we receive what He has done, the slate of sin is wiped clean, and in its place He writes “Child of the Most High God!” That is now who you are when you receive Him. A child of God. A forgiven, favoured and loved child of God.

John 3:36 says the following; “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him” in the King James Version. Verse 16 of the same chapter says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” In both, the simple message we often mess up with additions and conditions is this: for your salvation, all you ever need to do is believe.

A permanent reason to hope

A reason that really will redefine how we do life; that will redefine how we respond to challenges and setbacks, and put our hearts at rest irrespective of what today may look like for each one of us. For those of us who like to cut to the chase; the simple reason always boils down to Him, God, our Father and His assurance of love for us that is exemplified by His death on the cross.

Hope does not disappoint

I myself remember crying when my Form 4 results were made known to me, and my Shona result was not what I had wanted. I had invested late nights, reading of novels and research to try to get that elusive A. And when it did not come, I was so frustrated. And though the example may seem petty; my point is simply that I can relate to the feeling of a heavy heart from an unfulfilled dream.

There is so much that is profound about someone testifying and telling their own story about what the Lord has done. I have myself many times felt intimidated and as if my story was good for me to know and just to experience as God’s goodness towards me. Talking or saying something felt like it
