Forgiveness is a word we hear a lot in everyday conversation but by the way we as people live, it is clear that in our hearts we do not yet know what it means to say we are forgiven of God.
Paul says in Romans, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who are called according to his purpose-and what those words explicitly mean is there is not even one single sentence of you to be worthy of any punishment, retribution or judgment if you are in Christ. This is what the blood of God has done on the cross, it has taken every judgment that was against you, it has taken everything that you deserved and because the penalty that sin deserves has been paid, God has forgiven us.
It means there is no account being written of your sin for later remembrance; it means you are welcome to pray and be in the presence of God anytime anywhere, that your prayers get answered as those of a perfect man with no eyes on your record or on the History of your life. It means God is not angry with you, but His love is extending a welcome hand to come to true life: because everything and everywhere else where you are told there is joy and peace, it is a mirage -only in God is there fullness of joy and perfect peace; only in Christ is one filled to be satisfied and then to overflow. It is only in God when we will truly live life to the full.
And to see this we must realise that we are forgiven; completely and not because we asked for it and petitioned until God heard us, but because of His own love for mankind, God sent Jesus Christ to die on a cross for your sins to reconcile you to Himself. he purposed it, He planned it and He worked it out for you because He loves you and He wants to forgive you and to wipe away that record of sin. It is His will to let go of your sins–so my friend settle this in your heart, if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord, you are forgiven. Freely and Boldly approach God as Father, and intimately let Him know your heart for He is not judging or condemning you. Forever, you are forgiven.
