Have you ever felt worthless? Like a failure in life and that you do not deserve to have great friends, an amazing job and a loyal and loving spouse? Often, we have a justifiable reason to feel this way. It could be an addiction you are failing to break or a bad relationship you keep going back to that screams at you that this is who you are-a broken, helpless failure who will never rise.
The feelings, the message and the failure is real. And in that moment, it is easy to believe that this is true. I know because this was once me. Addicted to porn in the background, but trying to be cool and upright in my façade, this was often the feeling I had nurse me to sleep.
I remember pushing people away from knowing me, not allowing anyone to know my deepest fears and hopes because then, they would need to know my secret as well. I also remember feeling unworthy of love, unworthy of any woman’s attention until I broke the habit, and too conscious of how wrong it was to be just another guy. I remember what it was like, growing without close friends because I felt like a fraud whenever I was besides those ploughing the straight and narrow.
But thank God, I have not stayed there, and neither do you have to. I want to tell you today, that in spite of what you may have just been googling before you stumbled onto this article. Believe it or not, you were made for more than 2D images on a screen, and you were made for love, and your heart was made for love, for affection and for amazing friendship.
I want you to know today, that there is a way out. A way out of your place of hurt, to discover the person that God made you to be. A man or woman of honour, someone able to be authentic-to be bold to chase the dreams God placed in your heart and see them come to pass. A pass where you realize you were indeed born for a purpose, and you are not an accident.
Begin by heading over to Zechariah 3, go over the chapter and personalize it. Hear God speak to you, realizing he does not snuff out a smouldering wick, and a bruised reed, He will not break.
This week, realize that no matter where you are in life, God is able and willing and wants to restore you to a place of honour by His side.
